Looking for a therapist can often be a confusing and stressful process. I hope to eliminate the stress by providing a safe space to explore your problems, concerns, and beliefs without judgment. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I provide an approach that is humanistic, collaborative, and person-centered.
My interest in learning about our unique human experience started as a Psychology Major at Bowdoin College. I later served in the Peace Corps for 2 years in Niger, West Africa promoting projects in family planning, HIV awareness, and infant nutrition. I went on to graduate from Columbia University with a Master's in Social Work. I have since worked as a social worker with the following populations: at-risk teens, those living with severe mental illness, those struggling with chronic substance abuse, couples confronting fertility failure and grief of a pregnancy loss, and those living with a terminal illness. My passion is working with individuals in a therapeutic environment, though I continue to maintain my identity as a traditional social worker.
While exploring the impact of your history, we can also deepen your understanding of your present self through mindful attention to your thoughts and feelings. We all have the innate ability to make lasting changes, but we sometimes need support and guidance to better understand and face our problems.
